Food For The Heart - Finding Christ in the Psalms

The opening words of this psalm lift our eyes beyond the bustle of daily life to the grandeur of the One who set the heavens in place. In a world that often feels small and chaotic, we are invited to pause and marvel at the vastness of God’s handiwork, remembering that He fashioned us with purpose and love. This awe‑filled posture prepares our hearts to receive the truth that, despite our frailty, we bear the image of the Creator.

“O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is Your name in all the earth! You have set Your glory above the heavens.” (Psalm 8:1 BSB)

When we contemplate the heavens—stars, galaxies, the endless expanse—we see a reflection of Christ’s infinite glory (Colossians 1:16‑17). Yet the psalmist reminds us that God’s glory is not distant; it hovers over the very ground we walk on. In Christ, the Creator’s majesty becomes intimately accessible, drawing us into worship that honors both the Creator and the Redeemer who reveals Him.

Application
Take a moment today to look upward, whether literally at the sky or figuratively at the wonders of creation, and thank God for the glory He displays in your life through Christ.
